Mugs Coffee House first opened its doors on August 26, 2019, quickly becoming a beloved gathering spot in Lebanon. On January 1, 2025, longtime locals Jean-Luc and Elati Bourgeois proudly stepped in as the new owners, bringing with them deep roots in the community and a bold new vision.
With over 30 years of culinary experience, Chef Jean-Luc is reimagining Mugs—not just as a coffee shop, but as a full-service coffee house and bistro. Under his direction, Mugs is evolving into a warm and inviting space where specialty coffee meets chef-inspired fare, all served with heart and hometown hospitality.
As we look toward 2026, Mugs is transforming into more than a place to grab your favorite brew. It's becoming a vibrant hub where people come to connect, create, and enjoy thoughtfully crafted meals, local partnerships, and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home.

Twenty-five years ago, Jean-luc and I met in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at a Ruby Tuesday’s where he managed the kitchen, and I was learning the ropes in the front of the house. It was there that we discovered our shared passion for hospitality and the joy of bringing people together.

Twenty years ago, we moved to Lebanon, Oregon, with dreams of building a life rooted in community and connection. Together, we raised six incredible children, along with many others who joined our family along the way. This journey of nurturing and supporting others inspired us to create Weaving Fala, an organization dedicated to fostering belonging, equity, and cultural understanding in our community.
On January 1st, 2025, we purchased Mugs Coffee Lebanon to bring back to life a beloved coffee shop that our town had long talked about as a place they’d love to visit again. You just wanted it to be opened—and we heard you. With consistent hours, great coffee, and delicious, eclectic food, we’re proud to offer a space where everyone feels welcome.
Looking toward the future, we are driven by a shared vision: to build a cultural center by 2035. This center will serve as a hub for connection, education, and celebration, embodying the spirit of unity that fuels everything we do.
